Hyde Park
Hyde Park's historic Victorian and bungalow architecture along Bayshore Boulevard gives it the best views of Tampa Bay of any residential neighborhood in the city, and its mural program has responded to that geography with a body of work preoccupied with water, light, and the natural world that exists just beyond the city's manicured avenues. "Bayshore" at Hyde Park Village features Kelsey Montague's interactive wings format redesigned for Tampa Bay's ecology — the wings built from osprey feathers, snook scales, and the silver flash of a school of mullet, designed so that visitors standing in front become part of the bay's food web.
Wyland
"Tampa Bay Manatees" documents the West Indian manatees that winter in the warm discharge channels of Tampa Bay's power plants — one of Florida's most unexpected wildlife spectacles — in Wyland's luminous underwater style, the manatees rendered at their actual bulk against the teal of Tampa Bay's shallow grass flats.
